About AIVIS

We practice what we preach.

AI Visibility Strategies (AIVIS) isn't just a publication about AI visibility optimization. It's a living lab: every strategy we write about is implemented on this very site.

Why we built this

AI search is rewriting the rules of online visibility. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Gemini. These platforms don't show a list of ten blue links. They synthesize a single answer, and either your brand is in that answer or it isn't.

We saw a gap: plenty of people were talking about AI visibility, but nobody was systematically testing what actually works. So we built AIVIS as a testing ground. Every optimization strategy we publish, from FAQ schema markup to AI crawler directives to content structure patterns, is implemented on this site first.

The result is a resource you can trust. When we say "structure your content as direct answers in the first two sentences," it's because we've done it ourselves and measured the difference. When we recommend specific schema markup patterns, they're running in our own source code.

This site is open about its approach because transparency builds trust, both with human readers and with the AI systems that evaluate content for authority and reliability.

Who writes this

AIVIS is built by a human founder supported by AI research agents. We are transparent about this because we believe AI-assisted content, done with editorial rigor, produces better research than either humans or AI working alone.

Derek Oles

Founder

Derek Oles

Founder of AI Visibility Strategies (AIVIS). Director of Paid Search at Crossmedia. Building the bridge between paid search and AI visibility.

Derek started in product development, helping build software solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. He moved into paid search and spent over a decade at G5, iCrossing, and dentsu X before joining Crossmedia as Director of Paid Search. When he started building his own AI visibility tool, he got pulled deeper into understanding how AI platforms actually track and index page content. It was also a question his paid search clients were increasingly asking, with no clear answer on whether AI visibility belonged to SEO or SEM teams. He founded AI Visibility Strategies as a living lab to figure that out, testing what actually works in AI search optimization, from schema markup to multi-engine tracking. His take: AI visibility is not a subcategory of SEO or SEM. It is becoming its own discipline, and the teams that treat it that way will be the ones who get cited.

How we practice what we preach

Every AI visibility strategy we recommend is implemented on this site. Here's what's running under the hood right now:

FAQ schema markup on every article

Each blog post includes structured FAQ data so AI engines can parse and cite specific answers directly.

AI crawler access explicitly allowed

Our robots.txt names GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended with full Allow directives.

Content structured for citability

Articles lead with direct answers, use clear headings, and provide specific facts that AI models can confidently reference.

Comprehensive structured data

JSON-LD schema on every page (WebSite, Article, CollectionPage, AboutPage) giving AI systems rich context about our content.

Complete sitemap with metadata

A detailed XML sitemap with last-modified dates, change frequencies, and priorities helps AI crawlers discover and prioritize our content.

Open Graph tags for every page

Server-side injected OG metadata ensures that when our content is shared on LinkedIn or X, the preview is accurate and compelling.
